Critical Acclaim From Washington Classical Review:

“Adria Sternstein Foster, principal flutist of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, gave a blockbuster performance, taking up the first movement’s melody with silvery clarity. Sternstein Foster met all of the considerable technical demands handily, including perfectly placed high notes in the head-spinning stratosphere.”

Iridescence, album of flute and harp favorites

Kennedy Center musicians Adria Sternstein Foster and Susan Robinson present IRIDESCENCE, their recording of contemporary works for flute and harp.

As the principal flutist and principal harpist of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, Adria and Susan have been colleagues since the mid-1990s performing for the Washington National Opera as well as Kennedy Center ballet and musical theater programming. In Susan's first and Adria's second season in the orchestra they partnered in a performance of Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp and perform together regularly, in the IBIS Chamber Music Society and elsewhere.

IRIDESCENCE suggests the colorful and glowing sound quality of the unique combination of flute and harp. It is a fitting title for a collection of music full of kaleidoscopic harmonies and vivid imagery that references water, sun, and the natural world around us.
